Every year in the Premier League, new stars emerge. A year from now, players who are practically unknown will have become household names – such is the magic of England’s top division.
Today, we’re going to look at five young players who could enjoy a rise to superstardom during the upcoming Premier League campaign.
For this list, we will only be looking at players who have been subject to a transfer move over the course of the summer. Additionally, any players over the age of 23 won’t be considered.
Just for clarification, we are only looking at young players who haven’t been given a real chance to shine in the Premier League yet.
Stars such as Morgan Rogers, Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson all fall within the parameters, but we’d argue that they have already had their breakout campaign.

Aston Villa may well have a real gem on their hands here. Johan Manzambi made his mark in the 2026 World Cup for Switzerland – now, he has the Premier League in his sights.
Scoring three goals and racking up two assists in four games in the World Cup, his performances turned more than a few heads. He played a key role in their deep tournament run, helping them reach the quarter finals, where they were eliminated by Argentina.
He has been impressive at club level, too, scoring five goals and notching up five assists from the heart of midfield for Freiburg in the Bundesliga last season.

Newcastle United have led a lacklustre transfer window thus far, but one of their summer signings stands out from amongst the pack in our eyes.
An exciting young winger who also featured at the World Cup, he scored five goals and racked up 12 assists for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last season.
At the age of just 20, we’ll see how he handles the jump to the Premier League. Nevertheless, his pace, physical strength and dribbling ability should give him everything he needs to be a roaring success.

Andrey Santos is the only player in this list who has existing Premier League experience, but he never really got a fair shake at Chelsea.
Now at Manchester United, he looks primed for a serious run in the first team. United are currently short of central midfielders, giving Santos the chance to make his mark.
He has looked excellent in pre-season for the Red Devils. Michael Carrick has been impressed by his performances, lending him praise in post-match interviews [via Manchester United official club website].
Geovany Quenda

A graduate of Sporting CP’s acclaimed youth academy, Geovany Quenda could prove to be a fantastic signing for Chelsea. He seems tailor-made for Xabi Alonso’s style of football, given his high work-rate and excellent technical fundamentals.
Generally, Quenda plays as a wing-back on the right hand side, but he can also play on the left or as an out-and-out winger. Such pliability is incredibly useful in the modern game.
At just 19, the world is at Quenda’s feet. Chelsea have more than a few excellent young talents on their books, but Quenda might be the best of the lot.

Right now, there is a gaping hole in Liverpool’s backline. The Reds had major issues at centre-back last season and these problems still haven’t been adequately addressed.
As such, 21-year-old Jeremy Jacquet is set for a season in the deep end. Thankfully, as one of the best young defenders in the world, he’ll swim, rather than sink.
A defender tailor-made for the modern era, Jacquet should prove to be a marked improvement over Ibrahima Konate. Technically sound and physically towering at 6ft 3, we’re expecting him to make waves in the Premier League next season.
