Chelsea faces one of the biggest roster management challenges in European football after beginning the season with 41 first-team players under new head coach Xabi Alonso.
The Blues have been among the busiest clubs in the transfer market, signing several high-profile players including Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Geovany Quenda, Marco Palestra, Valentín Barco, and Emmanuel Emegha. However, with no European competition this season, playing time will be limited for many members of the squad.
Speaking in comments reported by MARCA, Xabi Alonso acknowledged that more transfer activity is expected before the window closes.
"We have to be aware that there will probably be more movement. We need to stay flexible and react quickly."
Several players, including Axel Disasi, Benoît Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, Gabriel Slonina, Caleb Wiley, and Marc Guiu, are expected to leave, while the futures of Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap, and Malo Gusto also remain uncertain.
According to MARCA, Chelsea is still pursuing additional reinforcements, with Pep Chavarría and Jordan Henderson reportedly among the club's transfer targets.
As the transfer window enters its final weeks, Chelsea's priority will be balancing one of the Premier League's largest squads while giving Xabi Alonso the streamlined group he needs to compete domestically.
