Tottenham have been linked with a shock move for Chelsea outcast.
Tottenham Hotspur have already spent £237m this summer, trying to fix their issues in defence and midfield. As we have entered the final month of the transfer window, we could see the N17 chiefs heavily focused on fortifying the attacking unit.
Roberto De Zerbi confirmed last week that he expects two or three more signings to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the September 1 transfer deadline. Savinho has been the North Londoners’ primary attacking target; however, despite negotiations with Manchester City for almost two months, a breakthrough hasn’t been found.
The Tottenham boss remains keen to add a new No.9 to his roster amid Dominic Solanke’s injury concerns. Solanke struggled with ankle problems for large periods of the 2025/26 campaign, which is why De Zerbi is apprehensive over relying on the England international for a regular supply of goals. Richarlison was the top scorer last term with 12 goals, but he is into the final year of his contract and could be sold this summer.

Spurs are currently the Premier League’s highest spenders, but there is still work to be done as they look to get their Premier League campaign off to a flyer. It comes as no surprise that De Zerbi wants to sign a centre-forward to improve his team’s attacking productivity.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham are among the sides showing interest in signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson. The 25-year-old is under consideration at White Hart Lane, although no club-to-club talks have taken place as of now.
Chelsea are understood to value Nicolas Jackson at £65m, with Aston Villa among the clubs interested in his services. The Senegalese international spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, registering 11 goals and four assists in 34 appearances. After Bayern Munich decided against triggering a buy clause, the forward returned to Chelsea last month.
Jackson is clearly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. He wants to leave the Blues to revive his career, and the African star is not short of suitors. The main question for Chelsea is whether they would sell to a bitter rival like Tottenham, especially given that the London duo will likely be competing for European spots next season.
To be fair, Jackson would not be a bad fit at Tottenham. The Senegalese is a strong, physical, fast, willing runner and capable of contributing in several attacking roles. However, paying a huge premium to convince a bitter rival would be a risky affair after such an expensive summer.
