Trabzonspor have announced the signing of Mohamed Salah following his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season.
The Egyptian forward brings an illustrious resume to the Turkish club after a trophy-laden nine-year spell at Anfield, where he won multiple major honours, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, while establishing himself as one of Liverpool’s greatest players.

According to recent reports, Salah has signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor. Salah’s future was the subject of intense speculation following his departure from Liverpool, with the Egyptian linked to Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, as well as Turkish sides Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
While talks with Besiktas reportedly failed to progress, Al-Ittihad also emerged as a strong contender. However, Salah ultimately opted for Trabzonspor after being convinced by the club’s project and approach.
Salah’s arrival has generated huge excitement among Trabzonspor supporters, with the club preparing a warm welcome for the Egyptian forward.
The move strengthens Trabzonspor’s attacking options as the club look to add more firepower amid concerns over the striking department.
Trabzonspor will become the seventh club of Salah’s professional career, following spells with Al-Mokawloon, Basel, Chelsea, Fiorentina, AS Roma and Liverpool. Fans will now be eager to see the former Liverpool star begin the next chapter of his illustrious career in Turkey.
Salah’s departure has left Liverpool searching for a long-term replacement on the right wing this summer. The Reds have been linked with several attacking targets as they look to fill the void left by one of the most influential players in the club’s history.
Yan Diomande was a top target for the 2024/25 Premier League champions, but Liverpool have since missed out on the Ivorian, who is set to join Real Madrid.
French winger Bradley Barcola is also on the club’s radar, although the Paris Saint-Germain forward is more comfortable operating from the left flank rather than Salah’s preferred right-wing position.
