Mohamed Salah’s departure has left a glaring void on Liverpool’s flanks, but Anfield chiefs are now looking to address it with an ambitious double swoop for Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
Liverpool are exploring an ambitious summer double swoop for Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye as sporting director Richard Hughes steps up efforts to bolster the club’s wide options ahead of the new 2026/27 campaign.
According to reporting from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, PSG are holding out for a fee in excess of €150m–€170m (£128m–£145m) for Bradley Barcola, a figure Liverpool are unprepared to pay in full without a compromise.
While Barcola has not yet finalized personal terms with Liverpool, Hawkins confirms the France international has made Anfield his preferred destination if he departs the French capital.
Mbaye keen on Anfield Project
Alongside the pursuit of Barcola, Hawkins reports that Liverpool have actively pushed to sign PSG’s 18-year-old sensation Ibrahim Mbaye.
The Senegal international, represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, has given the green light to an Anfield move, prioritising Liverpool’s project despite concrete interest and proposals from several Bundesliga sides including RB Leipzig, whose move for the teenager collapsed following complications in their own transfer dealings.

Mbaye’s representatives had previously held discussions with Aston Villa, but his camp ruled out a move to Villa Park in search of a club consistently competing at the absolute pinnacle of domestic and European football. Both Liverpool and Manchester City were subsequently alerted to his availability.
Fabrice Hawkins understands that initial contact has been made with Mendes as Liverpool push to formalise their interest in the talented right-winger, who broke into Luis Enrique’s first team last season with 31 senior appearances across all competitions.
With Mohamed Salah departed and Federico Chiesa’s long-term future subject to ongoing speculation, Liverpool’s wide options are undergoing a significant reshape.
Though summer arrival Victor Munoz has already joined the ranks alongside Cody Gakpo and highly rated teenager Rio Ngumoha, the club’s recruitment team retain room to maneuver for additional elite quality.
While talks for both players remain at an early and delicate stage, Liverpool’s intent is clear: they want to reinforce both immediate top-tier starting quality in Barcola and long-term elite ceiling talent in Mbaye before the transfer window slams shut.
