Tottenham receive welcome boost to sign 22-year-old Manchester City winger

Tottenham have been pushing to sign Manchester City winger.

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for attacking reinforcements goes on as we approach the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites have tried addressing their problems in defence and midfield by making six signings in total thus far. But they are still looking to bring in some more fresh faces to give Roberto De Zerbi a solid chance of challenging for European spots in the upcoming season.

The Italian tactician has already relayed the message that Tottenham are lining up another transfer “bomba”. As of now, Spurs’ options in wide areas consist of Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, Manor Solomon and Mikey Moore. Kudus has been recovering from a quad injury that saw him miss the 2026 World Cup, while Solomon and Moore are set to depart the club either on loan or permanently. Tel is still raw in certain aspects of his game and was inconsistent last season.

So, Spurs are right to consider signing Manchester City winger Savinho. The 22-year-old is internally pushing for a transfer to Tottenham following a frustrating season with limited minutes at the Etihad Stadium. The Hotspur Way chiefs have been monitoring the Brazilian international for the past 12 months and want to bring him to the club, and they have now been handed a boost in signing him.

Tottenham receive welcome boost to sign Savinho

According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Manchester City have identified Chelsea winger Pedro Neto as their primary target to bolster their wide options if Savinho departs. New boss Enzo Maresca is keen to reunite with the Portuguese international, having previously worked alongside the 27-year-old during their time together at Chelsea.

Interestingly, Pedro Neto is rumoured target for De Zerbi’s side, though their priority at this stage appears to be Savinho. Spurs are doing everything possible to reach an agreement with Man City for the transfer of Savinho, who is keen to become a part of De Zerbi’s forces at White Hart Lane.

The South American is a strong dribbler, technically secure, creative and can chip in with goals. He also has the ability to operate in several attacking areas, which adds more value to the 22-year-old’s name. Thus, it isn’t surprising that De Zerbi is desperate to bring Savinho to N17.

After weeks of frustration, it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel in the pursuit of the Man City attacker. This is down to the Sky Blues identifying Neto as a potential replacement for the Brazilian. City looking at the Chelsea star is in itself provides a welcome boost to Tottenham’s chances of landing Savinho.

Let’s hope our recruitment team manages to get a deal for Savinho over the line, which in turn allows City to go all out for Neto’s signing.
