So, we have a potential new signing to talk about for a change, Christian Norgaard from Arsenal.
As we are now stacked in this area, it seems only right to go through the ins, possible loans, possible outs and of course, the starting three going forward.
KIERNAN DEWSBURY-HALL
Let’s start with the obvious one. KDH he will start and probably be our next captain. Where he starts, I think he starts in the number 10 role. I think he will be the pivotal role in the 3 that David Moyes will use. He trusts Dewsbury Hall (probably more than most) to drive the ball forward.
The other easy one. James Garner will start every day of every week of every game while he is at Everton Football Club.
He is probably the most talented (in my opinion) midfielder in the whole squad, he will be in the middle two of the centre midfields, with Garner being the ‘8’ as the box-to-box, which I think he is most effective.
Right, let’s get to the nitty-gritty. Merlin is a versatile player, but his preferred position is midfield. I like Rohl, I think he is definitely one to watch this season in my opinion. To be honest, don’t be surprised if he rocks up playing the right back role if we AGAIN refuse to buy a right back!
If David Moyes has his way, I think Alcaraz will be sold. I don’t think you will get many Evertonians arguing with this fact either. I think he could be a good impact player, 100% not a starter.
Injuries have put paid to some chances, but I believe he has had enough chances to stake his claim for a place. With one year remaining on his deal, I think he will be moved on, probably back to his native Argentina.
TIM IROEGBUNAM
I actually like Tim. I don’t think he is as bad as everyone seems to think. He’s not Idrissa Gana Gueye, and that is ok, not many are. His tackling and pressing is actually very good,. His passing leaves a lot to be desired.
The thing is that I do still think he will be sold. Reasons being, he would command a decent-sized fee due to his age, and he is Premier League-ready.
HARRISON ARMSTRONG
Another player I like. Direct, always looking up and has a bit of class about him. Will feel hard done to, being recalled from Preston when he did (due to injuries). Personally, I would keep him around, but with the players coming in…. He will be loaned again in my opinion. Moyes seems to like him, which is always a plus. I think loan. Next year might be his year.
HAYDEN HACKNEY
Brand new shiny signing from Middlesbrough. The current Championship Player of the Year. Given he has only just been signed, he won’t be going on loan, definitely not. I do not, however, think he is going to be a starter either.
This isn’t a slight on Moyes, but I just don’t see him trusting Hackney to be the focal point of our midfield. He is playing cup games and coming on for the last 20 minutes of most games. Rightly or wrongly.
CHRISTIAN NORGAARD
Save the newest to last. Came out of nowhere this signing and I must admit, I like it. I liked him at Brentford, was kind of shocked when he went to Arsenal. For £7m, I think it is an absolute steal. For his age alone, I think he starts when he is fit and beyond. He stinks of a Moyes-esque player. Hopefully, he can be our modern Gareth Barry signing. Here is hoping.
Everton are stacked in the midfield for sure, but to be controversial, I think we could do with another one especially with the impending departures of Tim and Charly. We shall see.
