Everton agree personal terms with Yilmaz – Reports

Everton have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to reports in Turkey.

The 26-year-old has turned down interest from Saudi Arabia to pursue a Premier League move, with Everton said to have accepted his wage demands in full.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu said Yilmaz had even been willing to accept a lower salary to get the deal done.

Everton’s opening £35m bid was rejected by Galatasaray, who value Yilmaz at around €50m. A second offer is expected to follow.

Tottenham are also monitoring the situation but are yet to make a formal approach.

Yilmaz scored eight goals and added 11 assists in 30 Süper Lig appearances last season, his best return yet.

He also featured for Turkey at this summer’s World Cup, scoring in a 3-2 defeat by the United States after the team had already been eliminated.

Everton have added Merlin Rohl, Tyrique George and Hayden Hackney this summer, and have an agreement in place to sign Christian Nørgaard from Arsenal.

Adding Yilmaz would give David Moyes another attacking option capable of playing across the front line.
