Everton join Crystal Palace in Fofana pursuit
Everton have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana, according to Daniele Longo.
Milan have set an asking price of around €20m (£17m) for the 27-year-old, who fell out of favour under Massimo Allegri last season after an impressive first campaign at the club.
Both Premier League sides have made contact to assess the France international’s availability.
Fofana joined Milan from Monaco in 2024. He struggled to fit Allegri’s system last season, having previously thrived under Paulo Fonseca’s more possession-based approach. He has 25 caps for France.
Everton have lost Idrissa Gueye this summer, while Tim Iroegbunam, Carlos Alcaraz and Harrison Armstrong all face uncertain futures at the Hill Dickinson, leaving central midfield as an area that Moyes is clearly looking to strengthen.
Everton have also agreed a deal to sign Christian Nørgaard from Arsenal, and have already signed Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough.
Crystal Palace are seen as the more advanced of the two clubs in talks, having already made an enquiry, though Youssouf Fofana is said to prefer staying at Milan and fighting for a regular place under Massimiliano Allegri’s successor.
