FC Barcelona have officially confirmed the signing of highly-rated winger Erik Dominguez, adding another promising prospect to the club’s academy.
“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with player Erik Dominguez for his incorporation into the Club in the youth stage,” the club statement read.
The 16-year-old starlet arrives from Cornella, where he established himself as one of the standout attacking players in the club’s youth system.
The youngster was accompanied by Jose Ramon Alexanco, Barcelona’s Director of Youth Football, during the signing ceremony.

Dominguez is expected to begin with Barcelona’s Juvenil B side, although there is optimism that he could earn opportunities with the Juvenil A team if his development continues at the expected pace.
Dominguez has built a strong reputation in Catalan youth football thanks to his performances for Cornella’s Cadete team, where he stood out as a consistent goalscorer despite playing primarily as a right winger.
His arrival had been anticipated for some time, with several academy observers viewing him as one of the region’s most exciting attacking prospects.
Dominguez becomes Barcelona’s second officially announced youth signing this summer following the arrival of Mahdi El Maimouni, the 17-year-old Belgian-Moroccan midfielder who joined from Sporting Charleroi.
The teenager has been widely regarded in Belgium as one of the country’s brightest talents of his generation.
Alongside these two arrivals, Barcelona have also confirmed a series of contract renewals across their academy.
Promising young prospects like Ruslan Mba, Hugo Garces, Pere Villacorta, Roc Martinez and Pablo Pena have all signed new contracts with the Blaugrana, continuing their development at the club’s reputed academy.
The announcements underline Barcelona’s continued commitment to strengthening La Masia, combining external recruitment with long-term investment in the club’s own youth prospects.
