Bruno Guimaraes has been granted permission to travel to Arsenal to finalise his £75m transfer from Newcastle United, with the 28-year-old midfielder expected to undergo a medical in the coming days ahead of joining the Premier League champions.
The Newcastle captain has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal for several weeks, but progress over a deal has been slow.
It was reported earlier this week that Newcastle had rejected Arsenal’s opening offer for the Brazilian international, but a deal has now been reached.
Guimaraes is set to become Arsenal’s second outfield signing of the summer after winger Christos Tzolis.
Meanwhile, Guimaraes will be the third high-profile player to be sold by Newcastle this summer following the departures of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
