Chelsea fans could get to see Mykhailo Mudryk make his return to the pitch when Xabi Alonso’s side take on Juventus on Wednesday.

Mudryk has not played a game of football for nearly two years because of a doping ban.

The winger missed the whole of last season but is available again after having his suspension lifted.

It may take Mudryk a while to get back up to speed, but once the 25-year-old does, Chelsea supporters will want to see him replicate the form he showed during the 2024/25 Conference League campaign.

Heidenheim couldn’t handle Mykhailo Mudryk in Conference League clash

Mudryk impressed in the tournament before he received his ban, putting in a strong display against the last team he faced: Heidenheim.

Mudryk helped Chelsea to beat the German outfit 2-0 on the night after managing to get his name on the scoresheet.

The Ukrainian’s all-round wing play was excellent. He was a huge threat throughout the match, creating one big chance and registering two key passes, according to Sofascore.

Mudryk also completed two out of four dribbles as he gave Heidenheim’s right-back a tough game all night with his directness and pace.

If Mudryk can add more goals to his game, he will become a very dangerous attacker. In the past, Frank Lampard has spoken about Mudryk’s finishing, claiming that it is actually quite good.

What Lampard has seen in training has not translated to competitive football matches, but Mudryk is not exactly old at 25. The Ukraine international still has plenty of time to refine his game and become more consistent in front of goal now that he is allowed to play football again.

It will now be interesting to see what Chelsea and Alonso do with Mudryk. The possibility of the former Shakhtar Donetsk man remaining at Stamford Bridge has not been ruled out.

However, Mudryk joining Strasbourg on loan or another club where he can play week in, week out may be the best scenario.
