The K-League All Stars fixture gives Maresca a further opportunity to assess the fringe members of his touring squad in competitive conditions, with several players whose futures at the Etihad Stadium remain unresolved still making their cases for involvement in the new season.

City continue to carry a squad without their World Cup participants from England, Norway, Spain and France, though the returning players are expected to link up with the full group upon the squad’s return to Manchester later this month ahead of the Community Shield against Arsenal.
