Leeds United will reportedly send scouts to watch Arsenal's pre-season friendly with Real Betis as they keep a close eye on a prospective transfer target. The Whites are said to be keen on signing Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa, who plays for the La Liga side.

Mundo Betis claim several teams will have scouts in attendance at the pre-season clash in Dublin, with Deossa attracting plenty of attention from Premier League sides.

Leeds, Ipswich Town, Hull City, Wolves and West Ham United are interested in signing the 25-year-old. The midfielder struggled in his first season with Betis, and the Spanish club reportedly want to recoup the £9.5m fee they paid Monterrey for his services last summer.

It's claimed those clubs will watch Arsenal's clash with Betis on Wednesday night, as they cast their eye over the midfielder.

The Mexican side has a reported 15 per cent sell-on clause agreed with Betis, who came close to selling Deossa earlier on in the window.

Brazilian side Vasco da Gama were linked with a move for Deossa earlier this summer, but a move back to South America did not materialise.

It's claimed that the player paused talks with the Brazilian side in an attempt to pursue interest in England.

Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini has utilised Deossa as a striker thus far in pre-season, scoring twice in that position, but is a midfielder by trade.

It's been a positive transfer window so far for Leeds United, signing Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and are closing in on the signing of James Trafford from Manchester City.

Leeds are reportedly planning to bring in five more players this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Whites want another backup goalkeeper after Trafford's arrival, while another striker, a winger, another full-back and central midfielder are being targeted.

Deossa would address that midfield position, as the Leeds hierarchy look to strengthen Daniel Farke's squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
