Everton see reported £30m Jonathan Rowe bid rejected by Bologna
Everton have reportedly seen an offer for Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe rejected, with the Blues continuing to explore attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
Italian transfer reporter Nicolò Schira has claimed that Bologna turned down a £30m bid from Everton for the former Norwich City winger.
While the details of the offer have not been independently confirmed, the reported figure underlines the level of investment Everton are prepared to consider as David Moyes looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Rowe, 23, joined Bologna after impressing during his time at Norwich and has established himself as a player with the pace, direct running and creativity that Premier League clubs continue to value.
Everton have been looking to add more attacking quality to their squad, with the ability to create chances and provide greater competition in wide areas among the club’s priorities this summer. Jacob Murphy of Newcastle is another who has been linked.
Everton continue search for attacking reinforcements
The reported interest in Rowe comes as Everton look to build on their first season at the Hill Dickinson and continue the squad rebuild under Moyes.
His profile would fit the type of player Everton have been targeting: a player with Premier League experience, room to develop and the ability to make an immediate impact.
However, Bologna’s decision to reject the reported offer suggests the Italian club are reluctant to lose one of their attacking assets without a significant fee being agreed.
Whether Everton return with an improved proposal remains to be seen, but the interest indicates the club are actively exploring options to add more pace and creativity to their forward line.
With the transfer window entering a crucial stage, Jonathan Rowe is another name to watch as Everton continue their summer recruitment.
