Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcements has continued throughout the summer as the club reshapes its forward line following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
The Reds have been linked with several wide players, with Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye among the names attracting the most attention.

Barcola has remained Liverpool’s leading target on the left flank, although PSG’s valuation has complicated negotiations. At the same time, the club have continued to assess options capable of strengthening the right side of the attack, with Mbaye emerging as a serious candidate.
The interest in both players reflects Liverpool’s desire to add pace, versatility and long-term quality to their attacking options.
While Barcola and Mbaye occupy different roles, the pair could address separate needs in Andoni Iraola’s squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A fresh update has now emerged regarding Liverpool’s pursuit of Mbaye, including the fee PSG are expected to demand for the highly rated teenager.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, PSG are expected to seek at least €50 million for Mbaye amid growing interest in the 18-year-old this summer.
Jacobs reports that Liverpool have not yet submitted an official offer, despite making contact over a potential move. He adds that Mbaye is understood to be keen on a switch to Anfield should the opportunity arise.
The report also states that Bayer Leverkusen are already in talks over a possible deal. However, Mbaye is prepared to assess all of his options and would welcome an approach from Liverpool if the Reds decide to advance their interest.
Liverpool’s interest comes as the club continue planning for life after Salah. The Egyptian ended his nine-year stay at Anfield this summer, leaving the Reds in the market for a natural right-sided attacker capable of developing into a long-term successor.
Ibrahim Mbaye fits that profile. The Senegal international can operate across the front line but is viewed primarily as a right winger, while also offering cover on the opposite flank.
That versatility could complement Liverpool’s pursuit of Barcola rather than replace it.
Barcola remains Liverpool’s priority option for the left wing, although negotiations are expected to be challenging.
Ben Jacobs has previously reported that PSG’s initial valuation for the France international stands at around €170 million, a figure Liverpool consider excessive.
