Liverpool’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain players have become one of the club’s dominant transfer themes as preparations for the new season continue.
Reports in recent days have linked the Reds with moves for both Bradley Barcola and teenage winger Ibrahim Mbaye, suggesting the French champions could play a major role in Liverpool’s recruitment plans before the transfer window closes.

While Barcola remains the headline target, Liverpool’s interest appears to extend beyond one player.
French reports claim the club wants to strengthen its wide attacking options with multiple additions, and Mbaye has emerged as another name under serious consideration following reported contact between Liverpool and PSG earlier this week.
That interest comes at a time when Mbaye’s future in Paris appears increasingly uncertain, with a fresh report suggesting the teenager has now been told he must find a new club this summer.
According to PSG insider on X @Djamel, Paris Saint-Germain sporting adviser Luis Campos has directly informed Mbaye that he must leave the club and is personally working to facilitate his departure.
The report adds that PSG are seeking a transfer fee of around €40 million for the Senegal international.
Liverpool made contact with PSG regarding Mbaye on Tuesday as the Premier League club continues to assess the market for attacking reinforcements. Bayer Leverkusen are also credited with an interest in the 18-year-old as competition for his signature grows.
Mbaye is viewed as one of PSG’s brightest young prospects but has found first-team opportunities difficult to secure at a club packed with established attacking talent. His contract runs until 2028, giving PSG a strong negotiating position despite their willingness to sanction a sale.
Liverpool’s reported interest in Mbaye comes alongside their long-running pursuit of Barcola.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the France international in recent weeks, with several reports claiming discussions over a potential transfer have intensified as the club looks to reshape its forward line.
According to the report, Liverpool’s recruitment strategy has consistently involved targeting two wide players rather than focusing solely on Bradley Barcola.
The report claims Barcola would primarily strengthen the left flank, while Ibrahim Mbaye is seen as a player capable of operating on the right or across both wings, providing greater tactical flexibility.
Mbaye made 24 Ligue 1 appearances last season and scored three goals while adding two assists. He also represented Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
🔴 Even when they were pursuing Diomande, the Reds were already targeting a double move with Barcola. Liverpool were there last summer (well before targeting Diomande) and came back again last winter to keep constant contact: they’ve wanted Bradley for a long time.
