Aston Villa will not face competition for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson from Tottenham.

Villa have already done some significant transfer business with Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Morgan Rogers swapped Villa Park for Stamford Bridge in a British record £117m transfer, while Villa signed Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The Garnacho deal includes a conditional obligation for Villa to buy the 22-year-old for a fee understood to be around £43m, which will be triggered if he plays a certain number of matches in the new season.

Villa are interested in doing more business with Chelsea by signing Jackson, who played for Villa boss Unai Emery earlier in his career at Villarreal - and in a boost for the club, they will not have to battle with Premier League rivals Spurs for his signature.

Our sister title football.london report Tottenham are not expected to explore any move for Jackson, having been linked with the Senegal international.

The 25-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in June 2023 and has made 65 Premier League appearances for the Blues.

Jackson joined Bayern Munich on a season-long loan last year and made 34 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring 11 goals.
