Everton set to continue with specialist set-piece coach for new season
Everton are set to begin the new Premier League season with a specialist set-piece coach as part of David Moyes’ backroom staff.
According to the Liverpool Echo’s Joe Thomas, Dave Reddington is expected to continue in the role after initially joining the club during the closing weeks of last season.
Reddington, who has previously worked with AFC Wimbledon and Crystal Palace, remained with Everton throughout pre-season and is now set to stay on as the Blues prepare for the new campaign.
Everton continue to strengthen coaching team
The appointment reflects a growing trend across the Premier League, with clubs placing increasing emphasis on specialist coaching in key areas of the game.
Set pieces have become an increasingly important source of goals in recent seasons, with many clubs investing in dedicated coaches to maximise both attacking opportunities and defensive organisation.
For Everton, retaining Reddington suggests the club have been encouraged by the work carried out since his arrival at the end of last season.
While much of the summer focus has centred on new signings and transfer speculation, Moyes has also been shaping the coaching structure behind the scenes as he prepares his squad for another demanding Premier League campaign.
With the new season fast approaching, Everton appear set to continue with a specialist responsible for one of the game’s most influential tactical areas, underlining the club’s focus on improving every aspect of their performances.
