Tenerife midfielder to join Liverpool

Liverpool have continued to strengthen across the club during a busy summer transfer window.

While the men’s team are struggling to add new faces ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, Liverpool Women have also been active as Gareth Taylor reshapes his squad before the new Women’s Super League season.

The Reds have already completed a number of signings this summer, targeting players with top-flight experience and international pedigree. These include Vivien Endemann and Mao Itamura.

With pre-season well underway, attention has now turned to whether Liverpool Women will make any further additions before the transfer window closes.

Fresh reports suggest another deal is close as the Reds continue to strengthen the heart of their squad.

According to The Athletic’s Megan Feringa, Liverpool Women are set to sign central midfielder Natalia Ramos from Tenerife. The 27-year-old Spaniard would become the club’s sixth signing of the summer if the move is completed.

Ramos has emerged as one of the standout performers in Spain’s Liga F over the past year. She enjoyed an outstanding 2025-26 campaign with Costa Adeje Tenerife, playing more minutes than any other player in the league while contributing 10 goals and five assists from midfield. She also won the league’s Player of the Month award for April.

The midfielder’s performances have attracted attention beyond Spain. Brighton & Hove Albion were previously linked with Ramos earlier in the summer, but a move failed to materialise despite reported interest from the Women’s Super League club.

Natalia Ramos has spent the majority of her career with Tenerife after also featuring for Levante. She returned from a serious ACL injury to produce the best season of her career, establishing herself as one of Liga F’s most consistent midfielders.

Her reported arrival would provide Liverpool with another experienced option in central midfield ahead of the new campaign.

Ramos is capable of playing in a variety of midfield roles and has earned praise for her work rate, ball-winning ability and attacking contribution during her time in Spain.

If completed, the transfer would represent Liverpool Women’s sixth signing of the summer as Gareth Taylor continues to reshape his squad.

The club has already added several new faces during the window, including goalkeeper Khiara Keating, with further reinforcements reflecting Liverpool’s ambition ahead of the new WSL season.
