Gabby Agbonlahor drops hint via a Jack Grealish/Everton joke
Jack Grealish’s name has once again been linked with Everton – although this time it came with a large dose of humour rather than a serious transfer update.
The Manchester City winger was involved in a light-hearted exchange with talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil after sending a message welcoming him back to the station.
During the conversation, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor joked that Grealish could be heading back to Everton, prompting reaction from supporters online.
The comment was clearly made in jest, but it was enough to catch the attention of some Evertonians who have followed speculation surrounding the England international this summer.
Grealish has been the subject of transfer interest after a difficult period at Manchester City, with questions continuing over his future at the Etihad Stadium.
However, there has been no indication that Everton are close to completing a deal for the 30-year-old, and Agbonlahor’s remark should be viewed as a playful comment rather than a genuine transfer update.
Everton fans continue to follow Grealish links
The reason the joke attracted attention is that Everton have previously been mentioned as a possible destination for Grealish, with supporters intrigued by the prospect of adding his creativity and experience.
For now, though, the winger’s future remains one of the talking points of the summer transfer window rather than an imminent move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Agbonlahor’s comment may not have revealed anything concrete, but it provided another entertaining moment in a transfer saga that continues to attract plenty of attention.
