Arsenal take on Real Betis in a pre-season friendly in Dublin
Arsenal take on Real Betis in their second official pre-season friendly of the summer. Mikel Arteta has taken his side to Dublin to face the La Liga club as the difficulty level steps up from their previous Spanish opponent.
Arteta welcomes back Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli to the squad, having returned late to the group. But it is still missing plenty of stars such as Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and some injured players such as William Saliba and Jurrien Timber.
The game will be played with the backdrop of the transfer window very prevalent. Especially with the imminent arrival of Arsenal’s second most expensive transfer ever, Bruno Guimaraes.
While it might’ve been hoped the Brazilian would be able to take part in the game, it appears that will wait for the weekend’s home clash with Borussia Dortmund. But Christos Tzolis and Max Dowman have already begun to steal the show with Kai Havertz also in strong form.
