Kavuma-McQueen is making waves as he emerges from the Londoner’s successful academy ranks.
And the 17-year-old is now set to continue his development at Fratton Park next season, with the winger in line to bolster Pompey’s attacking options.
The Blues are pushing forward with their transfer business, with the EFL curtain-raiser at West Ham this weekend in the Carabao Cup.
And the attacking department is a big area of focus, with Mousinho’s squad light on options across the front line.
The likes of Josh Murphy, Keshi Anderson, Franco Umeh and Harvey Blair are all in the treatment room, with the Championship opener against QPR arriving next week.
Pompey, of course, are closing in on a deal for Abu Kamara and are confident of bringing the Hull City man back to Fratton Park.

But Mousinho is aware he needs multiple options across his front line - and that includes Kavuma-McQueen.
The Londoner has represented England at age-group level and featured regularly at under-18 and Premier League 2 level for Chelsea.
That saw him return 13 goals in all competitions, including two strikes as his team were crowned national champions with a 5-1 victory over Manchester City.
Kavuma-McQueen also has a senior outing in the 7-0 FA Cup romp over Port Vale and a Chelsea EFL Trophy appearance to his name.
