Mohamed Salah has arrived in Turkey to complete his move to Trabzonspor, receiving a hero’s welcome from supporters at Istanbul Airport.
The Turkish club confirmed on Tuesday that the former Liverpool forward was travelling to finalise his transfer, with an official unveiling expected on Thursday.

Salah, 34, is expected to earn a basic salary of at least £14.5million per year before bonuses. He was pictured wearing a Trabzonspor shirt on the club’s social media channels before arriving in Istanbul and is set to undergo a medical once negotiations are completed.
The Egyptian’s arrival follows the long-standing tradition of Turkish supporters gathering at the airport to welcome high-profile signings.
Salah left Liverpool this summer after a trophy-laden nine-year spell, ending his time at Anfield as the club’s highest Premier League goalscorer.
Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and will compete in the Europa League qualifiers, are set to complete one of the biggest signings in the club’s history with the addition of the former Liverpool star.
Salah became a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season, having agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent in March.
Although clubs from the Saudi Pro League expressed interest in signing the Egyptian forward, Trabzonspor moved quickly to secure his signature.
The Turkish club have confirmed that Salah will be officially unveiled on Thursday, bringing an end to speculation over the next chapter of his career.
A club statement read: “For our new signing Mohamed Salah, a signing ceremony will be held at Papara Park on Thursday, August 6 (tomorrow) at 19:30.
“We invite all our fans to our home Papara Park with their new season jerseys to witness history and take the first step of this unforgettable journey together.”
Salah is set to link up with Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has returned to Trabzonspor on loan for another season.
The Turkish club’s squad also includes former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic, ex-Southampton striker Paul Onuachu and former Premier League midfielder John Lundstram, giving Salah several experienced teammates as he begins the next chapter of his career.
