Arsenal youngster Louie Copley had to be substituted after just ten minutes on the pitch as the first-team were beaten 3-1 by Real Betis in a pre-season friendly in Dublin tonight.
Copley entered the fray at the start of the second half, with the midfielder again filling in at right-back.
However, he soon had to be withdrawn with Theo Julienne replacing him.
Max Dowman started the game and played the first half, while Marli Salmon replaced Cristhian Mosquera at the break.
With regards to those who are not part of the first-team squad, Josh Ogunnaike and Ife Ibrahim came on just after the hour mark, with Brayden Clarke, Ceadach O’Neill and Ismeal Kabia later entering the fray.
Andre Harriman-Annous, Demiane Agustien and goalkeeper Khari Ranson were all unused substitutes.
Rodrigo Riquelme gave Betis the lead, with Nelson Deossa then making it 2-0.
Although Piero Hincapie got a goal back for Arsenal, Pablo Fornals added a third goal for Betis before half time.
Former Arsenal scholar Hector Bellerin featured for Betis.
Attention will now turn towards Saturday’s Emirates Cup game against Borussia Dortmund where there could still be some involvement from academy players.
