Norgaard reveals Arteta role in Everton move

**Christian Norgaard has revealed Mikel Arteta’s role in his Everton transfer.**

Norgaard became the fourth summer signing at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Wednesday evening when he completed a £7 million switch from Arsenal.

The Denmark international penned a two-year deal with the Blues after helping the north Londoners to long-awaited Premier League title success.

Gunners boss Arteta became a fan favourite on Merseyside during a six-year spell as a player in which he had flourished under David Moyes’ tutelage.

And Norgaard admits the Spaniard’s feedback on his experience of working with the current Everton manager helped convince him it was the right move.

“I spoke to him quite a lot about the potential move,” said the 32-year-old.

“He had only positive things to say about Everton and also David Moyes.

“He played for him for a long time and the whole experience he had as an Everton player seemed to me as if he had a fantastic time here and really also excelled as a player under David Moyes.

“Hopefully I can get the same feeling as an Everton player.”

He added: “There were many factors to it. I felt I needed a change and to play a bigger football role.

“When I spoke to David Moyes and others at the club involved in the transfer, I heard about the whole project and I was very intrigued.

“Coming here just makes that feeling even stronger.”
