Paris Saint-Germain are demanding “more than €40m (£34m)” for Liverpool transfer target Ibrahim Mbaye, according to reports in the French media.
RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins says the Reds are in discussions with PSG about signing the Senegalese international, and the European champions have set their valuation. Liverpool supporters on X agree that Mbaye’s price tag is very reasonable, considering the current state of the market:

Mbaye has attracted interest from other teams
The teenager has a very bright future ahead of him, and it is not a surprise that plenty of clubs have taken a keen interest.
Hawkins reported a couple of weeks ago that the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have also made enquiries about Mbaye.
Liverpool are hoping to buy both Mbaye and Barcola
Some fans may have assumed that Andoni Iraola’s side were considering Mbaye as a cheaper alternative to his teammate – Bradley Barcola.
However, it is believed that talks with PSG are happening concurrently to secure a sensational double deal.
Barcola will cost a lot more than Mbaye, with the Ligue One club currently holding out for a fee in the region of €150m (£128.6m), including bonuses. That would still be a club record fee for the Reds, but it is decidedly below the winger’s previously reported asking price of €170m (£145.7m). At the moment, it is believed that sporting director Richard Hughes is not willing to go above €120m (£103m), which seems a reasonable stance.
Of course, there is always a concern that negotiations run on for too long, which could leave the deal open to being hijacked. Arsenal’s pursuit of Vinicius Jr means that Liverpool still have a free run for Barcola, but that could still change.
