Liverpool are set to accelerate their transfer business after a modest attempt to improve Andoni Iraola's squad thus far. Spanish winger Victor Munoz and French defender Jeremy Jacquet are the only new faces so far in a summer that saw Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate leave on free transfers.
Salah's replacement is at the top of the agenda, though Yan Diomande has agreed a move to Real Madrid over Anfield. Attention was then turned to Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, though the French winger would command a substantial transfer fee. Here, Express Sport runs you through all the latest transfer news on Merseyside...
Liverpool are understood to be weighing up a move for Barcola and his PSG colleague Ibrahim Mbaye as they seek to strengthen their wide options. Senegal international Mbaye joined the PSG academy in 2018 from Versailles.
In 2024, he received a first-team call-up from Luis Enrique following standout performances in the youth setup. Mbaye has registered eight goals and 13 assists across 36 appearances for PSG and while he predominantly features on the right, he is capable of playing on the left flank.
The French giants are believed to value him at approximately £43m. The Reds have maintained a longstanding interest in French international Barcola, with discussions anticipated to commence shortly regarding a potential move to Anfield.
The reigning European champions are reportedly demanding around £145m for the 23-year-old winger, though reports indicate the Reds are hoping to pay significantly less.
Should Liverpool complete a remarkable double signing of the pair, they could be forced to spend an eye-watering £188m to secure both players from Paris.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has voiced his worries over Liverpool's transfer activity this summer. The ex-centre-back has also written off the Reds' Premier League title chances this season, citing their sluggish progress in the transfer market.
"Where we are right now, and there is still a month to go transfer-wise, I can only see Arsenal or Man City (winning the league)," Carragher said on The Football Ramble.
"I think Liverpool need two defenders and a top right winger to be in the 'chat' or in the chase. They haven't replaced Mo Salah.
"They are supposed to be going for Barcola, and I'm sitting there scratching my head thinking the manager and the people sorting the transfers out know a lot more than I do about what's going on behind the scenes, but we have about four players who can play left wing, and we are going for Barcola.
"They haven't got one player who plays on the right wing in the squad. I'm a little bit worried but what I would say about Liverpool and people above, with the people above, I do trust them in terms of over the last decade or so, how they have gone about their business - they sell well, they bring in good fees. There must be something up their sleeve."
