As Chelsea’s players picked up their preparations for the new season with a fixture against Juventus, new signing Morgan Rogers has started to build up his personal fitness away from the squad.

Xabi Alonso got another look at the players he has available to him for the 2026/27 season against the Serie A side, although the Blues fell to a 1-0 defeat.

Their attacking patterns of play were nullified by an uneven playing surface, although they offered very little in front of goal.

It was Jamie Gittens who started on the left of attack, as Chelsea await Rogers and the rest of their World Cup semi-finalists to join up with the camp again.

Meanwhile, Rogers was seen on Instagram already back doing individual training, working with Belgrave Coaching in Marbella.

The winger posted clips of him doing fitness work, as well as practicing his finishing when cutting in from the left-hand-side.

Alonso will be keen to see his new signing in person, with the Blues almost certainly set to build around him and best friend Cole Palmer.

The boss has confirmed Rogers will be ready to start against Fulham on the opening day of the season, despite the fact his preparations alongside his new teammates will be limited.

This would see him replace Gittens in the starting side from recent pre-season games, despite the fact the 21-year-old has enjoyed a strong tour so far.

There is also the prospect of Mykhailo Mudryk, who made his first appearance for the club in nearly two years against Juventus.

Premier League sides have registered interest in the Ukraine winger, including Frank Lampard’s newly-promoted Coventry City.

Chelsea fans will likely get their first chance to watch Rogers in the flesh when they take on Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on August 15.
