Dominik Szoboszlai has made his feelings on Trey Nyoni clear amid a worrying verdict on the depth of the Liverpool squad, with a few weeks remaining in the transfer market

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai says Trey Nyoni's excellent pre-season performances are no surprise to the Reds players who have trained with the teenager over the last couple of years.
Nyoni has been the biggest winner of Andoni Iraola's first summer so far, standing out in matches against Sunderland, Wrexham and Leeds, putting himself firmly in the frame for a bigger role when the Premier League kicks off later this month.
While Liverpool needs more depth in attack and defense, Nyoni's prominence means that adding a midfielder doesn't need to be a priority in the transfer market — and Szoboszlai has been impressed.
"I knew always that Trey is a good player," the Hungarian told reporters, including from The Athletic.
"In training, he has shown his quality many times. Also, when he had the chance to play in some cup games or even in the Premier League.
"The youngsters at the back also did very well both in the training sessions and the games. They are one of us. The squad is short so we need everybody."

Bradley Barcola is a priority target for Liverpool while his 18-year-old PSG teammate Ibrahim Mbaye is another under consideration. It remains to be seen if a defender is looked at too.
This summer Ifeanyi Ndukwe has stood out, but he doesn't have a work permit and therefore can't feature when the proper stuff starts and will therefore head out on loan.
Mor Talla Ndiaye has looked promising too, but he is very young and is expected to head out on a temporary basis as well, while Luke Chambers is left-footed when someone on the right is of greater need.
"It's not my job to say who we have to sign or if we have to sign someone," Szoboszlai continued.

"But if the guys above and the manager decide to sign someone then we'll be very happy and welcome them well.
"If they decide not to then we get on with it, and we have to do something special with this squad."
Liverpool.com says: Signing a couple of players before the September 1 deadline is an absolute must. Attack is the priority, but another body at the back would make a huge difference too.
Iraola wants to implement a higher intensity style of play, and he will need numbers for that. Injuries are inevitable, and Joe Gomez has already succumbed to an issue.
