**Liverpool may see Bradley Barcola as their priority signing this summer, but a recent claim suggests that they could suffer a blow in their efforts to snap him up.**
The Frenchman is wanted by the Reds, but it is proving tricky to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, with journalist [Pete O’Rourke](https://live4liverpool.com/the-problem-holding-up-liverpool-deal-to-sign-bradley-barcola/) recently explaining the situation:
_“The problem is trying to agree a fee with PSG. Obviously PSG are holding out for big money, around £120 million for Barcola. Liverpool don’t really want to pay that much for him. They’re hoping they can get him for under £100million plus add-ons, with incentives, maybe, to bring that deal closer to PSG’s valuation._
_“Again it’s a deal that’s ongoing. There’s optimism, I think, on Liverpool’s side that the deal can be done, especially now if they’ve got the thumbs up from the player’s side that he would be keen to make that move to Anfield, and that’s big factor in it.”_
Not only this, but Arsenal could now look to complete the signing of Barcola after missing out of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, who looks set to stay put.
That’s according to [_talkSPORT_](https://talksport.com/football/4488369/arsenal-summer-transfer-targets-vinicius-guimaraes-barcola/), who prior to Vinicius’ future looking decided, reported that the Gunners could “pivot” to Barcola if they miss out on the Madrid superstar.
Thankfully, they state that the 23-year-old’s “preference appears to be a move to Liverpool”, but “joining the Premier League champions would also appeal” to him.
**A late sting in the tail for Liverpool?**
-------------------------------------------
This would be a huge blow for Liverpool, not only because they would be missing out on their main attacking wide target in Barcola, but also see him move to a direct rival.
Arsenal clearly pose a threat, given their status as Premier League champions and the fact that they need a left winger, and the Reds must ensure the north Londoners don’t swoop in at the last minute.
For now, it still looks likely that Barcola will end up at Liverpool before the end of the window, but we have seen stings in the tail before, and a fee hasn’t yet been agreed with PSG.
This one could rumble on.
