Mohamed Salah has pledged to mirror his achievements with Liverpool at Trabzonspor after being overwhelmed by the welcome he experienced ahead of finalising his unexpected transfer to the Turkish side.
The Egypt international departed the Reds earlier this summer after being permitted a free move, with both parties mutually deciding to terminate the remaining year of his two-year deal that he signed last summer.
The 34 year old had been strongly associated with a switch to Saudi Arabia, and allegedly also garnered attention from Italy and the MLS. But having previously held discussions with Beşiktaş, Süper Lig competitors Trabzonspor eventually secured his services.
Salah travelled to Turkey to complete his transfer on Wednesday, first touching down in Istanbul to undertake a medical assessment at Acibadem Maslak Hospital.
He subsequently journeyed onwards to Trabzon, where he was afforded a spectacular reception by fans as they assembled with flares, flags and fireworks to welcome the Egyptian well into the evening.
Left stunned by the greeting he encountered, Salah joined his new club's supporters in Trabzonspor's customary three-count chant before departing the airport.
And addressing members of the media upon his touchdown at Trabzon airport, he conveyed his instant response as he delivered a message to fans.
"I'm so happy to be in this incredible environment," Salah said after arriving in Trabzon. "I don't remember ever seeing anything like this before.", reports the Liverpool Echo.
"There are 25,000 people here, it's incredible! I've never seen anything like it!
"I've been successful everywhere. I want to experience success at Trabzonspor as well."

Trabzonspor are hosting a signing ceremony for Salah at Papara Park on Thursday evening as they prepare to officially present the Liverpool legend to their supporters.
In a statement, the Turkish club said: "A signing ceremony for our new transfer, Mohamed Salah, will be held at Papara Park on Thursday, August 6th at 7:30 PM.
"We invite all our fans to our home, Papara Park, wearing our new season jerseys, to witness history and take the first step on this unforgettable journey together."
