Arsenal secure unprecedented sponsorship extension

Arsenal have announced a long-term extension of their partnership with Emirates, ensuring one of football’s most recognisable sponsorship agreements will continue until 2033.

The new deal sees Emirates retain its front-of-shirt sponsorship, training kit branding and naming rights for Emirates Stadium, extending a relationship that began when Arsenal moved from Highbury in 2006.

The agreement also remains the Premier League’s longest-running front-of-shirt sponsorship and comes just weeks after Mikel Arteta’s side ended the club’s 22-year wait for a league title.

Arsenal view the renewal as another important step in supporting their ambitions both on and off the pitch as they seek to build on last season’s success.

Chief executive Richard Garlick said the partnership has played a significant role throughout one of the most transformative periods in the club’s modern history.

“Winning the Premier League is an incredibly proud moment in our club’s history and one that belongs to everyone connected with Arsenal,” Garlick said.

“Emirates has been an integral part of this success, standing alongside us throughout this journey and sharing in the defining moments, challenges and successes that have shaped our club over the past two decades.”

He added that Arsenal’s title triumph has created the platform for even greater ambition.

“Our renewal reflects a shared belief in Arsenal’s future and a shared determination to keep moving forward.”

“The best partnerships, like the best teams, never stand still.”

The agreement will continue many of the initiatives supporters have come to associate with the partnership, including the annual Emirates Cup and the Global Gooners programme, which gives international fans opportunities to experience matches in north London.

Arsenal’s chief commercial officer Juliet Slot described the relationship as one of the defining commercial partnerships in world sport.

She said the two organisations have consistently looked beyond traditional sponsorship by creating experiences that bring supporters closer to the club across the globe.

Emirates president Sir Tim Clark echoed those sentiments, insisting the partnership has evolved far beyond a standard commercial agreement.

“We have grown alongside the club through changes of era and ambition,” he said.

“What comes next is building on that strength for the millions of Arsenal supporters who carry this club with them wherever they are.”

The announcement comes as Arsenal continue preparing for the new season following an active summer in the transfer market and their Premier League title-winning campaign.

Supporters will see the renewed partnership celebrated throughout the coming weeks, beginning with the Emirates Cup, where Borussia Dortmund visit north London before Arsenal conclude their preparations with another home friendly against Como.

The club has also confirmed a series of anniversary events to mark more than two decades of collaboration, reflecting on the success of the Emirates era while looking ahead to what they hope will be another trophy-laden chapter.
