A new report claims that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to take charge of negotiations with Liverpool to expedite the Bradley Barcola transfer.
It has been weeks since Liverpool pivoted from Yan Diomande to Barcola yet there has been little to no visible progress made aside from the news that the Reds are in talks and have submitted a first bid.
James Pearce on the bid that Liverpool were said to be submitting last week: “Liverpool are set to table an opening bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. PSG have indicated that they value Barcola at around £145million but Liverpool have no intention of going that high to secure his services. They will look to do a deal closer to £100m given that the player has made it clear he won’t sign a new contract at PSG and wants to embark on a new challenge on Merseyside.”
On Wednesday, L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi claimed that “all negotiating parties remain confident a solution will be found for Bradley Barcola to join Liverpool despite PSG wanting €150m + including bonuses and Liverpool signalling they are not prepared to go above €120m (£102m).”
Now, today, Tanzi has another update on the situation which should see an imminent breakthrough in talks.

As the 2026 summer transfer window approaches its conclusion, with the Premier League deadline set for 1 September at 11 pm, movement is needed on Liverpool transfers, with the news that Al-Khelaifi will personally lead talks in the Barcola case an encouraging update.
Tanzi now reports: “PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is also expected to become directly involved soon by speaking with Liverpool’s senior executives and owners, with whom he has a strong relationship.
“It should not be forgotten that Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain share the same minority shareholder, Arctos, which could help facilitate discussions between the key decision-makers at both clubs.”

Liverpool signing Barcola is much needed if they are to replace the talismanic impact Salah had on the wings, even if the Frenchman will play on the opposite flank.
