There are only around two and a half weeks left till the start of the 2026-27 season for FC Barcelona, and Hansi Flick has not been able to train several of his important players. This is particularly the case as up to eight Blaugrana players reached the final of the World Cup 2026 with Spain, and started their holidays only after winning the top international trophy.
The players who participated in the final are expected to return to their clubs by 10 August. However, [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20260806/1004213663/gavi-entrenando-ciutat-esportiva.html) reports that [one of these players, Gavi](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/gavi-thanks-barcelona-after-completing-his-dream-of-winning-the-world-cup/), has already returned to the Blaugrana club and is training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, six days ahead of his planned return.
However, he is still far behind his other teammates who have been training under Flick for some weeks now, and thus, he is training apart from the group. The midfielder understands how important this preseason and the upcoming season are going to be for him, as he was affected by his serious injury during the last two seasons, and only now has gotten back to his best physical level.
In addition to this commitment and his early return, another aspect of the Spaniard that must have surprised his teammates at the Ciutat Esportiva would be his new look. He dyed his hair pink to fulfill a promise he made for winning the World Cup.
Hopefully, this early return and the commitment he is showing will pay off, and Gavi will be able to showcase his talents to Hansi Flick. Competition in the midfield is once again going to be tough, as, even with the injury of Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Marc Bernal, Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez will all be competing with Gavi for minutes, while Barcelona are also being linked with the Manchester City star Rodri Hernandez.
