Aston Villa are reportedly edging closer to the signing of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, with the Midlands club said to be prepared to meet the Blues’ £65 million valuation for the Senegal international.
According to the latest transfer reports, Chelsea have made Jackson available to a number of Premier League clubs as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new season.
Aston Villa are now believed to have emerged as the leading contenders for the 24-year-old’s signature, with the club reportedly willing to pay the asking price in a deal that would rank among the biggest transfers of the summer.
The reports suggest Villa manager Unai Emery is keen to strengthen his attacking options as the club prepares for another campaign competing on multiple fronts.
