Everton can add a new name to their growing list of potential right-back signings; Krépin Diatta. The free agent is reportedly on the Toffees list.
Foot Mercato report that the 27-year-old Senegal international is someone that Everton have looked at this summer.
Free Agent Status
The website explains that Krépin Diatta is currently seeking his next clubs after leaving Monaco on a free transfer at the end of the season. He is ‘spoilt for choice’ on that front.
According to FM’s information, Marseille are one of the sides to have sought information about the full-back. But he has also ‘stoked the lust’ of several clubs in England and Germany. Everton are one of those in the former.
Diatta’s status as a free agent, his versatility and his European experience are all seen as plus points by his suitors. Marseille, for their part, are simply taking information.
But the French club have to be cautious as FM state that Schalke 04, Everton and Ipswich Town are also ‘on the hunt’ to try to attract him. The belief is that this month could be a particularly ‘exciting’ one in terms of Diatta’s future.
He is determined to make the right decision about his future after five years with Monaco. And there are options on the table as well.
Everton’s Right-Back Search
Everton’s search for a right-back is now well established. Indeed, there is barely a right-back in Europe who has not been linked at this point. They’ve even found themselves involved in transfer drama like with Feyenoord’s Givairo Read.
Celtic’s Alistair Johnston appears to be the primary target at this moment in time. But whether he is the only addition in the position remains to be seen.

A free transfer option like Diatta, particularly one with plenty of experience who offers versatility, could be tempting.
For now, it appears the Toffees and other suitors are simply asking for information before potentially making a move.
