Yes, Chelsea have lost another pre-season game, but everyone needs to chill out!
Some perspective is really needed here. Obviously, we all wanted Xabi Alonso’s men to beat Juventus on Wednesday, especially after losing to Tottenham Hotspur.
However, we were still missing new signings Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix, who are going to make a huge difference to this team, while Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill were also absent because of very minor problems (both players should be back on Saturday).
Of course, that has not stopped some supporters from absolutely losing it, with Mike Penders feeling their wrath.

Mike Penders criticism over the top
Having a glance on social media, many Chelsea fans felt Penders should have done better with Juventus’ goal and have been extremely critical of the young goalkeeper.
That is quite harsh. Edon Zhegrova’s strike was a beauty as the winger curled the ball into the top corner. Truthfully, there was not too much that Penders could have done.
Here on TalkingPoints, there was at least one Chelsea fan who had some sympathy for Penders.
I don’t know if Penders is going to be the answer to Chelsea’s goalkeeper problem in the upcoming season.
Robert Sanchez has a mistake in him, as does Filip Jorgensen, who is expected to join Strasbourg on loan.
However, Penders was not at fault for that goal Chelsea conceded against Juventus and deserves a shot between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.
The good news is if you are a fan of Penders, it looks like the 21-year-old will indeed get an opportunity under Alonso.
Jorgensen is leaving and the club have quashed speculation about interest in Porto’s Diogo Costa.
It means it is very likely to be a straight shootout between Penders and Sanchez to be Alonso’s No.1. If the Juventus defeat is anything to go by, though, Penders will have to quickly learn that Chelsea fans are not going to go easy on him just because he is a young keeper.
