'We've got some more older players' - Tosin admits he's no longer the only 'uncle' at Chelsea
Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo has welcomed the arrivals of England internationals Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck, joking that he is no longer the only 'uncle' in the Blues' dressing room.
Former Liverpool captain Henderson, 36, has joined the London club on a two-year contract, while 35-year-old Welbeck has also signed a two-year deal after completing his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Between them, the experienced duo have earned 133 senior caps for England and bring a wealth of leadership and top-level experience to Stamford Bridge.
Last season, Tosin, 28, was the oldest outfield player in Chelsea's youthful squad.
However, the arrivals of Henderson and Welbeck have added much-needed experience to the dressing room, leaving the defender no longer carrying that distinction.
Tosin is confident Henderson and Welbeck will bring invaluable experience to the team, helping their younger teammates benefit from the knowledge they have accumulated throughout their careers.
"They bring pure experience. At the same time, they're winners, so they're bringing that winning mentality to the club and hopefully we'll continue that winning," Tosin told Chelsea's official website.
"It's obviously nice, no longer being the oldest. We've obviously got some more older players and experienced players in the squad.
"They’re still uncs as well. They're still young in life, so it's fine."
Amid reports linking him with a summer exit from Stamford Bridge, Tosin has been used in all three of Chelsea's pre-season matches by new manager Xabi Alonso.
