Tottenham to battle Everton for Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz
According to Turkish newspaper Turkiye, Tottenham have joined Everton in the race to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz. The 26-year-old dreams of playing in the Premier League after spending five years with Galatasaray.
Everton have already seen a €35m bid rejected for the Turkiye international, with the Istanbul giants valuing the player in the region of €50m. His former club, Ankara Keçiörengücü, retain a 20% sell-on clause. There is an expectation that the Toffees will return with an improved bid for Baris Alper Yilmaz.
The report adds that Tottenham have already made verbal approaches, although it is not known whether the contact was with Galatasaray, Yilmaz’s agent or both.

Yilmaz is rated among the best wingers in the Turkish Super Lig, thanks to his pace, directness, unpredictability and goalscoring ability. The Turkiye international registered eight goals and 11 assists in 30 league appearances for Galatasaray last season. Having proven himself in his homeland, he desires to play in the Premier League.
While Everton’s interest remains strong, Tottenham must take the first formal step. Everton are planning to return with an improved offer, which puts added pressure on Spurs to act decisively if they want to avoid missing out. With other top targets proving difficult to land and the squad still needing quality and depth in attacking areas of the pitch, Yilmaz represents both a smart investment and a potential starter in De Zerbi’s side.
