Stuttgart star open to joining Liverpool

Liverpool have signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna this summer, while Jeremy Jacquet completed his long-awaited move from Rennes after the transfer was agreed in January.

The Reds are searching for a replacement for club legend Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield this summer to join Trabzonspor.

After Yan Diomande opted to join Real Madrid over Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, the club have turned their attention to PSG winger Bradley Barcola as their top target.

Liverpool are also reportedly pushing to sign Barcola’s PSG teammate Ibrahim Mbaye as part of a potential double deal.

The Senegal international has scored four goals in 41 appearances for PSG since breaking into the first team during the 2024/25 season.

Meanwhile, VfB Stuttgart are interested in Wolfsburg striker Dzenan Pejcinovic, which could increase competition for Ermedin Demirovic. However, Demirovic remains keen to stay at Stuttgart and is hoping to face English opposition in the Champions League this season.

“I’ve said I want to stay here,” he explained at VfB’s training camp in Grassau on Lake Chiemsee. “For me, nothing has changed; everything is the same as it was before the World Cup.”

Stuttgart are pursuing the signing of Dzenan Pejcinovic from relegated VfL Wolfsburg. If the deal is completed, the 21-year-old striker would provide strong competition for Ermedin Demirovic.

However, sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said the clubs are still “far from” an agreement, with reports suggesting Wolfsburg are demanding €25million.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß recently expressed his frustration over reports suggesting he would not completely rule out Demirovic’s departure if the club sign Pejcinovic. “My goal is always to have the best players at VfB, and Medo is one of our best players,” Hoeneß explained.

Demirovic’s contract with Stuttgart runs until June 30, 2028. The 28-year-old striker “wouldn’t say no” to the possibility of playing for Liverpool, as reported by schwaebische.de. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make a move for Demirovic this summer.
