Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai broke silence on his problem with Curtis Jones. The two players had an exchange of words during the pre-season game against Wrexham.

The 25-year-old Szoboszlai was seen arguing with Jones and Kostas Tsimikas on field. This happened during the game against Wrexham, which the Reds won 1-0. The clips of the argument between the **Liverpool**players went viral over the social media. However, Szoboszlai cleared the air over the alleged argument. He denied that he had a problem with either Jones or Tsimikas and all was well between the three.
There were rumors that Szoboslai had a problem with Tsimikas receiving the captain’s armband during the second half. However, he denied it, and called out the media for exaggerating a minor scuffle. He added, “Next time we will manage to do it in the changing room.”

The Reds didn’t have a great experience last year, especially in the Premier League. However, Szoboszlai gave his best on the individual front. He is hopeful of a better season next year, with Andoni Iraola as the new team manager.
Szoboszlai is part of Liverpool since 2023. Before that, he played for RB Leipzig between 2021 and 2023. Previously, he was part of Red Bull Salzburg. He played for the club between 2018 and 2021. He is also the current skipper of the Hungary football team.

Szoboszlai is currently warming up for the next **football**season. He wasn’t part of the 2026 World Cup, because Hungary didn’t qualify for it. Hungary finished behind Portugal, and missed out on the qualification as well as the playoff spots available under the UEFA qualifiers. In fact, Hungary haven’t qualified for the FIFA World Cup since the 1986 edition. They were eliminated in the group stage itself.
Szoboszlai doesn’t have too much to worry about in terms of fitness. However, he does need to work on his disciplinary issues. He was given eight yellow cards and one red card during the Premier League last season. If he wants to create a name for himself in European football, he needs to keep cool, both on and off the field.
The Reds have struggled throughout the 2025-26 season. Players like Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, and Andy Robertson decided to leave Anfield after the 2025-26 season. Apart from that, things weren’t too great between the management and the players, especially with previous manager Arne Slot.
