Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal is now approaching official confirmation after the Brazilian successfully passed his medical ahead of a £75million move from Newcastle United.
Arsenal reached a full agreement with Newcastle on Wednesday after lengthy negotiations for their captain. Guimaraes has since completed the next major formality, leaving the Gunners close to announcing one of the biggest Premier League transfers of the summer.
The midfielder has also agreed a four-year contract running until 2030, according to the Evening Standard’s latest report on Guimaraes. The agreed £75m package could eventually rise towards £80m.

Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal now awaiting announcement
Guimaraes’ medical represents another significant step after weeks of uncertainty surrounding his future.
ReadArsenal reported on Wednesday that Fabrizio Romano had given the £75m agreement his “here we go” confirmation. Personal terms had already been settled by that stage, with the midfielder keen on a move to north London.
Mikel Arteta refused to discuss Guimaraes directly after Arsenal’s pre-season defeat to Real Betis, insisting he would speak once the club were in a position to announce something.
That point now appears increasingly close.
The 28-year-old would add another proven Premier League midfielder alongside Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard. His ability to play deeper or operate as a No.8 should also give Arteta greater flexibility as Arsenal prepare to defend their Premier League title.
For now, supporters are waiting for the final confirmation. With the medical passed and a four-year contract agreed, however, Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal has reached its final stages.
