‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano drops Chelsea news Newcastle United will love

Finally, it looks like some good news is arriving for Newcastle United as well. It has not been too long since the official announcement of Matthias Jaissle’s appointment was made.

The German manager has some winning pedigree for sure, even if it might not have come in a top five European league. Let’s hope he can replicate that success at St James’ Park.

On the other hand, there is some positive news regarding Newcastle United and their chances of keeping hold of one of their most important players.

Fabrizio Romano confirms next Chelsea signing

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano. The Italian journalist has given the move his famous ‘here we go’ seal of approval.

The deal is done for the Spanish left-back. It is going to be a €19 million fixed fee plus €2 million in add-ons. Chavarria will now fly for his medical and contract signing.

Why is this good news for Newcastle United? Well, Chelsea were one of the clubs to be linked with a potential move for Lewis Hall in this summer transfer window. And there is no doubt that if the Blues are determined, they know how to get a deal done. Just look at how they managed to sign Morgan Rogers ahead of Arsenal.

So, Chelsea’s interest could have been a worry for Newcastle United. But now that they have filled that left-back spot by signing Chavarria, there is little chance they will try to sign Hall.

Newcastle United must keep Lewis Hall at the club

Keeping Hall around beyond this summer has to be considered a priority for Newcastle United. They have already lost far too much quality with Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon.

Hall should now be one of the faces of this Newcastle United team under Jaissle, which seems to be centred around youth and potential. There are not too many better than him when it comes to youngsters in the Premier League.

In the eyes of many, the 21-year-old is the best Premier League left-back already. You simply cannot let a talent of that level go, even if a £60 million or £70 million bid comes in.

With Chelsea out of the equation, the only team that seems interested in even pursuing a deal for Hall is Manchester United. And it does look like they might be starting to turn their attention elsewhere as well.

Recently, reports have broken out that Manchester United want to sign Antonee Robinson. Obviously, this is further good news for Newcastle and their hopes of keeping Hall around beyond this summer.
