Gabriel Martinelli to Galatasaray emerges as fresh Arsenal transfer possibility

Gabriel Martinelli to Galatasaray has emerged as a fresh transfer possibility after the Turkish champions added Arsenal’s Brazil international to their list of potential left-wing signings.

Martinelli’s future has already attracted interest this summer, with Atletico Madrid previously making contact over a possible move. Galatasaray have now become another club to consider the 25-year-old as Arsenal continue to assess their attacking options.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Martinelli features on Galatasaray’s winger shortlist alongside AC Milan star Rafael Leao. Martinelli is viewed as an alternative if the Turkish club cannot complete a move for the Portugal international. Di Marzio reports that Galatasaray have added Martinelli to their shortlist.

🚨 @JacobsBen: “If the door ever opened to Saudi, I think Al Nassr are the club that have looked the most at Gabriel Martinelli. A year ago, they were thinking of making an offer in the region of €85m. He would get a very lucrative contract, but he’s never given any… pic.twitter.com/ueHrQODZZF

No offer has been reported and Arsenal are not currently under pressure to sell Martinelli.

However, his position has become more interesting as Mikel Arteta continues to reshape the left side of his attack. Christos Tzolis has already arrived, while Arsenal have spent much of the summer exploring another elite winger.

That search could become more complicated. ReadArsenal reported on Thursday that Arsenal increasingly fear their move for Vinicius Junior could fall through after Real Madrid improved their contract proposal to the Brazilian.

Losing Martinelli without first securing another leading left-wing option would therefore leave Arteta taking a significant risk.

Martinelli still offers pace and direct running that few other members of Arsenal’s attack can replicate. Galatasaray’s interest does not mean a departure is close, but another potential buyer gives Andrea Berta an additional decision to make before the window closes.

Any serious move for Gabriel Martinelli to Galatasaray may ultimately depend on whether Arsenal can first find an attacking upgrade.
