Chelsea news today as PSG make contact over Malo Gusto

PSG have taken their interest in Gusto a step further by making contact over a possible move for the France international.

Chelsea are not actively pushing the 23-year-old towards the exit, but reports have placed his valuation at around £75million. Manchester City have also shown interest during the summer.

ReadChelsea reported on Thursday that PSG had made contact regarding Gusto, although there is currently no suggestion that a formal offer has been submitted.

Marco Palestra’s arrival has strengthened Alonso’s options on the right, while Reece James can also operate there. That gives Chelsea greater flexibility should a significant offer eventually arrive for Gusto.

Badiashile’s situation appears further advanced.

Napoli are discussing a season-long loan with an option to buy worth a total package of around €20m to €23m. The defender has indicated he is open to the move, while ReadChelsea reported that negotiations between the clubs are progressing.

There is still work to complete around the purchase option, but Badiashile’s willingness to join Napoli could help move the deal forward.

Palmer and Colwill could return against AC Milan

Alonso may also receive encouraging news on the pitch this weekend.

Palmer and Colwill both missed the Juventus defeat after experiencing discomfort, but Alonso described their problems as minor. Palmer suffered a contact injury against Tottenham, rather than a recurrence of the groin issue which troubled him last season.

ReadChelsea has the full Palmer and Colwill injury update, with both players being assessed ahead of Saturday’s game.

Chelsea face AC Milan in Jakarta as Alonso continues shaping his squad for the start of the Premier League season.

For Chelsea news today, attention remains firmly on the defence. One full-back is attracting major interest, another centre-back is moving towards the exit, while Alonso could soon welcome two important players back into his matchday group.
