Aston Villa players are reportedly becoming increasingly concerned that Ezri Konsa could leave the club this summer, with Arsenal pushing to sign the England international. The Gunners are keen to recruit the 28-year-old as cover for William Saliba, who is currently nursing a back injury.
Konsa has two years remaining on his contract at Villa Park. Although Villa are eager to extend his deal, his transfer value could begin to decline after the end of August if he does not agree fresh terms.
Villa have already lost three key players this summer, with Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers departing, while Lucas Digne is set to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Unai Emery is determined to keep Konsa, but the Daily Mail reports that members of the Villa squad are becoming increasingly resigned to the defender's departure.
Arsenal are expected to return with another approach for Konsa after an earlier attempt this summer. However, their initial valuation, believed to be around £60 million, fell well short of Villa's asking price.
Villa have strengthened their squad by signing Johan Manzambi and João Gomes, while also bringing in Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan from Chelsea with a conditional obligation to buy.
Meanwhile, Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to sign Matteo Ruggeri. However, the left-back has yet to agree personal terms with Emery's side after being identified as Digne's replacement.
Villa are also expected to target a new midfielder, right winger and right-back as they look to further strengthen Emery's squad before the summer transfer window closes.
