Chelsea have been chasing Pep Chavarría for the past several weeks and are now closing in on signing him.
The Premier League side sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in June and have identified the Rayo Vallecano player as the main target to replace him.
Chavarría has already agreed on personal terms with the Blues in July. However, the two clubs had to agree terms, and the La Liga side had earlier rejected multiple offers from Chelsea.
He has a €50m release clause and the Spanish club were initially referring to this, while the Blues refused to match it.
Chelsea on verge of signing
The English club have been working on reaching an agreement with Rayo Vallecano and have finally achieved it.
Mundo Deportivo now claims Chelsea and the La Liga side have found an agreement on Thursday night.
The operation will go through for around €19m in fixed fee plus €2m bonuses. It’s worth noting earlier claims talked about an agreement for €25m excluding bonuses. It needs to be seen whether the clubs will confirm the actual figures.

Pep Chavarría has been training alone in recent days, waiting for the two clubs to come to an understanding.
Green light for London trip
With Chelsea sorting out a deal with Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, the latter have given the green light for the fullback to travel to England.
The newspaper claims he travelled to London on Friday morning, to carry out medical tests and sign the contract with Xabi Alonso’s side.
With all parties in agreement, Pep Chavarría should soon complete his move to Stamford Bridge.
Alonso had requested the Blues sign his compatriot,to replace Marc Cucurella. There are only a few steps left for them to announce Chavarría’s signing, provided he completes the medical tests.
