Exclusive: Liverpool agree deal in principle for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Bradley Barcola, DaveOCKOP.com can exclusively reveal.

Liverpool are now jumping over the final hurdles to bring PSG’s Bradley Barcola to Anfield this summer.

The 23-year-old rose to the top of the shortlist after it became clear that Yan Diomande saw his future elsewhere despite a bid from the Reds.

Barcola has impressed at PSG but faced increased competition for regular starts last season due to the club’s wealth of attacking talent under Luis Enrique. A move to Liverpool could provide him with a more prominent role.

DaveOCKOP exclusively reported last week that Liverpool had submitted a bid for the French attacker. Furthermore, L’Equipe also revealed earlier this week that Barcola had “contractually agreed” a move to Anfield.

All that remains is for Liverpool and PSG to agree a fee for the former Olympique Lyon winger.

We can now reveal that a breakthrough has been reached between the two European giants. There is an agreement in principle between Liverpool and PSG for the transfer of Bradley Barcola.

It’s important to note that the agreement is in principle, and nothing is signed or completed just yet.

The fee is believed to be in the region of €128m, with add-ons said to be more achievable in comparison to earlier clauses suggested.

Barcola only has two years remaining on his current contract and is not expected to sign a new deal with PSG.

The player’s preference for a move to Anfield, combined with the lack of significant rival interest, gives Liverpool valuable leverage in negotiations.

Meanwhile, Luis Enrique’s side has announced the acquisition of Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, which means they would be more comfortable now letting go of the French international and thereby paving the way to a switch to Merseyside.

With PSG already planning for life after Barcola, Liverpool will hope the remaining formalities can now be completed without any late complications.

The Frenchman would represent a major statement of intent from the Reds.
