Liverpool will travel to games in a new-look team bus for the 2026/27 season, with an updated ‘Campeão Imortal’ tribute to Diogo Jota prominent on the back.
A replica of a banner from the Kop, featuring Jota’s likeness along with his No. 20 and the phrase ‘Campeão Imortal’ – Portuguese for immortal champion – will cover the back of Liverpool’s team bus for 2026/27.
It comes as part of an updated wrap for the club’s matchday transport ahead of the new season, as shared by influencer @rvheemo on Instagram.
The slogan ‘This Is Liverpool’ is featured on the sides of the team buses along with a chequered red-and-white design.
Liverpool’s team bus also included a tribute to Jota last season, following the striker’s tragic death on the eve of pre-season on July 3, 2025.
It is part of the club’s continued efforts to honour their late No. 20, including a permanent memorial installed outside Anfield this summer.
The ‘Forever 20’ memorial sculpture, designed by Emma Rodgers, is based on Jota’s iconic heart goal celebration and shows the numbers 20 and 30 – the shirts worn by Jota and his brother Andre Silva – when viewed from different angles.
Found on 97 Avenue, which runs outside the Main Stand, it also features the lyrics to Jota’s song – “he will take us to victory, oh his name is Diogo” – and other mementoes including a PlayStation controller.
A number of the physical tributes laid out for Diogo and Andre in the immediate aftermath of their passing are incorporated into the structure, set in wax.
Liverpool are in a period of significant change both on and off the pitch, with a high turnover of players and staff meaning many of those now representing the club were not close with Jota himself.
But the Portuguese’s bond with Liverpool is considered immortal and he and his brother will continue to be remembered for decades to come.
That includes a fitting tribute on the back of the new team bus, which will transport Andoni Iraola and his side to and from games throughout 2026/27.
